For the Saxonburg Festival of Arts I'm entering the
mixed media category.
I made this 44x28 inch wall hanging
out of dyed brown paper bags.
I have a feeling this show will be predominantly
fine art paintings.
The judge is a very accomplished regional painter.
I made the wall hanging last year and have been moving it around my house.
It needs a home.
Saxonburg is a small historical rural town.
I hope the "country look" of my piece
appeals to someone...and they buy it!
I still have time to come up with a second entry,
uuhhmm.....
I liked the little Saxonburg museum. It has a lot of stuff about KDKA in it. I didn't know until I saw it there that KDKA's first transmitting tower was near Saxonburg. I graduated from Knoch and went to a reunion held there in that museum building.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can see this piece is extraordinary.

Oh I love how colorful this is and the bees, so sweet. Wonderful work as always. xox
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the festival. I really like how you extended beyond your frame. I so enjoy the organic lines of the brown bags versus the intentional sewn lines! Nice!!!
