A few posts back I mentioned an art auction that was supporting relief efforts in Japan. Well, this is the painting I bought. When I went to the web site Daily Painting to bid on Maria's painting I saw that others were bidding on her wonderful night street scene so I picked a painting that had not been bid on yet.  This painting truly seems to have been painted just for me. The colors and theme are a perfect fit in my home. I just love it!
The painting is by Esra Kizir Gokcen of Turkey. Here is her web site.

Esra is a classically trained artist who likes fairy tales.

Buying this painting was an experience. Many emails, my first international money transfer and then the miracle of me and the FedEx man being at the same place for me to sign for my package.
The waiting added to the excitement. I am overjoyed with this fun painting. I guess the next step is off to have it framed.
Esra, your painting makes my heart sing!

  1. Sounds like your branching out to me! Glad you are feeling better! Quite an original painting, very nice! It does have a dreamy aspect to it.

  2. Congratulations on your new acquisition. It's spectacular!

  3. congratulations ... this painting has so much energy!

  4. Great painting Jill. Makes me feel like I am peeking into another world. xox Corrine

  5. Lovely painting, vibrant. I plan on 'raffleing' a piece in my show in September - as my middlest was in NZ for the first earthquake it will be for the NZ relief fund. Wish I could do more.
