A Day Out & About

Shaaron Thomas
Rainbow Daze Studio

Last Saturday my mom, sidekick Eva, and I ventured north to Slippery Rock, Pa.
Shaaron Thomas was holding an art open house at her home.  Along with hand made jewelry there were spectacular works of hand painted silk. Oh, and did I mention the food, good food.

Shaaron was in the 2007 Quilting Arts Calendar. Miss December she told me. (She will forever be Miss December in my head) She also had an honorable mention on a second piece.

Shaaron is so creative. On display throughout her home were framed silk paintings, beautiful quilts and pillows, scarfs and sun visors. It truly was a rainbow of colors on that sunny fall morning.

This framed silk painting is FUN-- notice all caps.

Quilt and pillows. Just love how vibrant the colors are!

This set of hors d'oeuvre picks and serving pieces were made by Sharron's daughter Marilee Bender of McDonough, GA. A lot of talent in this family!              ( Marilee is my step-sister, she named her mom's studio. Shaaron and I were both surprised at Daze being in both our titles. That day was the first we learned of it!)

I couldn't resist this fall leaf scarf. Most of the leaves have fallen here but I'm still carrying a bit of fall flash around my neck. It was a great day out and about.

So beautiful! How does she do it?????
