Hot, Hot, Hot

I've been working in my Sketchbook.
This first image is magazine pages and watercolor.

The topographic map is watercolor and ink.

I used tissue paper and ink on these pages.
I love using these materials.

I spent a few hours the other day in front of the computer painting. This month Bill Guffey's paintout challenge
is on Prince Edward Island, Canada. You can check out all the fab postings at his blog,
If you would like to give it a try, its not hard.
Basically at the bottom of his blog there is a Google map. Keep clicking until you are on the street level. Walk around and find a spot to paint. (I had to download some stuff from Google Maps to get it working smoothly)

Anyway, here is what I painted. Its good practice for me. Painting is not something I do often but the more I do it, the more I enjoy it. I didn't post on his blog.

We are in the "dog days" of summer. It is HOT. Our garden is growing fast. We are now picking pole beans. I grow them just because I like how the T-pees look in the garen, so cool!

  1. What lovely drawings, I really must get a sketchbook for myself! You should have 'entered' that drawing/painting below- it's better than the last one!

I can't imagine how you must be feeling about Zeus, well, other than incredibly lucky he's still with you. If you did a few Christmas craft fairs with little examples of your lovely work you could hopefully start paying off those bills. Your mag flowers are wonderful.
