So, this is the story of how I ended up with a tapestry loom. It all started with a messenger bag, a.k.a the dog purse. I wove jute and fake fur on a loom made of boards with nails at two ends, very low tech. In search of a leather strap I called my neighbor, a former leather smith. She fitted my bag with a piece of tack--horse bridle. It worked for me.
She then suggested I weave her a wall hanging from her surplus of leather. Of course I said, "what a good idea." What was I thinking? YIKES!!
I didn't think my knuckles could take banging off the board loom so I turned the loom project over to my father in law. He came through in aces!
Fake fur and jute.
How does this thing work????
