I guess I have started moving from my comfort zone as a stay at home mom to the next phase in my life. My goal is to do art everyday no matter how much laundry piles up.

My God given gift seems to be seeing potential in everything. Nothing is trash in my eyes. Give me a pile of junk, and people do, and I will turn it into something.

My latest work involves large brown paper bags I turn into stylized American flags. My daughter brings them home to me. Bread and buns are delivered in the bags everyday to the cafe where she works.

Now I'm off to work on a piece made from yes, a brown paper bag and tissue paper my eight year old collected at a baby shower...we took the trash home!

So here is to day one of my blog. Cheers!

  1. I love working on brown paper bags, especially the ones that have writing on them as you can expose some of it, creating a layered look. Thanks for visiting my blog. Love your flag idea.
