Saturday's Snow

This morning I was up and in the studio before sunrise. Snow was lightly falling and turkeys were squawking somewhere near by. I decided to tackle a project I could be finished quickly. At the moment I have four projects in different states of stopped dead/stumped/pulling my hair out, how the heck do I finish????

I picked this photo out of one of the stalled projects. I took the photo at a local rodeo. These sweet faces sporting the fancy headgear are part of the steer wrestling event. The photo was tweaked in Photoshop with the "old paper effect". I then hand colored high lights on the photo. Lastly, I sewed a piece of black card stock to the backside with a variegated thread.

Today I not only started, but finished a piece of mail art!  A piece of mail art destined for a mail art show. There is still time for you to send an entry to the Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery.
Entries must be at the gallery no later than February 3rd.

For more information here is a link to a Face Book page with all the details.

There is no theme or size limits.

Mail all entries to:

Next to my warm snugly studio is a bird feeder which is "meeting central" for a large population of cardinals. That is until I pull out a camera, then they vanish!

These two photos were taken from the back window of my studio.
See the creek running the width of the photo?

The snow has been falling all day, it sure is pretty to look at. Feeling blessed that me and my family are all able to stay home today and watch it snow, snow, snow!

  5. Your studio looks absolutely majestic in that setting. I am obsessed with cardinals so I envy your feeder full. I can hear them down south, but they are so elusive. I love all their different songs. Stay warm Jill!
