Planning
As I was blog hopping I noticed a trend, people were talking about joining The Document Life Project. From what I can gather it is about making a daily planner, then ...not sure. I am hoping it has art challenges each week. I signed up for the newsletter and joined the Face Book page.

I have NO organization skills. Daily planners, end up being art supplies because I never use them more than a few weeks. This past fall I began giving a family member with medical issues a day out of my week. I looked at it as a day out of my studio, a subtraction. As I dropped activities from my weekly schedule to balance time something happened. I started thinking of how to spend more time with my sister in law in ways that incorporated our family lives. No longer do I see our time together as a subtraction of time. There is a real peace in this shift of thought.
Today I will continue cleaning my studio. ( I'm dragging out this chore) Making some type of loose daily planner from things found in my trash pile-- might get my creative juices flowing again. Doing a project like this is good way to connect with other art minded people. An art fix if you will.
My other 2014 goal is to finish the children's book I have been working on for over a year. As this is a solitary endeavor I think The Document Life Project might be a good balance. And who knows, I might actually get organized. (Big eye roll from my husband)
I don't think I posted a picture of this years Christmas card, every year I make my own. ( Not many got made, I'll do better next year!) It's a block print of a pine tree. I think the block print was inspired by my TV viewing, Sleepy Hollow, the Once Upon a Time shows and a few others along the same line.
Baby it's still cold outside here again today but the sun is shining!!!!
Have a great day, I know I will because I will be making art.

I love your cards, you do such a fab job.....xox
ReplyDeleteThank Corrine. I happen to be a fan of your cards. The whole world should be sending mail art, how happy we would all be!
DeleteFrom what I've seen it's filling a planner with your daily life in words and pictures, i.e., like a scrapbook. I would be bored to death if I did that. My life is not so exciting that I can produce 365 days of whatever!! I only use a planner to jot down appointments and things I have to remember to do so that my life doesn't fall apart...
ReplyDeleteI'm making a planner, need to keep track of things. Not sure how close I'll follow the project. I am looking forward to dropping in to see what other do.
DeleteYou may want to check out my blog. I mentioned you and gave a link to your blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'll drop by!
