I'm Back!

We made it back!
Nine days in New Mexico and Arizona.
Our first stop was Santa Fe. This picture of Eva was the only picture I took in Santa Fe. We ate some good food and saw a few museums. Mainly they had cute shops...many many cute shops.
Santa Fe is known as an arts center so I was really looking forward to the visit.
Sadly one day there was all I could take. There was so much stuff to buy. There was beautiful work by talented artist but it was mixed in with reproductions and mass produced stuff from Mexico and Peru. I'm not a shopper and found it overwhelming. The few things I did buy in Santa Fe I bought on the streets from the artists.

Santa Fe was brown, brown land and brown adobes. Even Target was brown adobe.

This picture was taken on my way to Arizona.

The Painted Desert.

The Petrified Forest. It looked like the trees had been clear cut and only a few logs were left. But up closed those logs are made of stone. I have to say that it was a desolate place.

The sky was hands down the best part of the trip. I never got tired of looking at it.

To be continued....

  1. I really like the painted desert picture. Could be made into a piece of art. Silk painting or appliqur strips. I really like your new background design. How did you mange to add it to your blog. Got myself into a bit of a muddle with mine. Did you have to change your whole layout template?
Glad you had a good trip.

  2. I love the painted desert picture. it would look great as a silk painting or applique strips. i also like your new background. I am in a bit of a muddle with mine at the moment. Did you have to change your template/layout for it to work? I have the right template but it is one of the older versions and i think that it is stopping the background from uploading.
Glad that you had a good trip.

  3. Love that pic of Eva, did you make it the Canyon Road? It's been many moons since we hit Santa Fe but I loved the folklore museum. and that labyrinth. Brown, yes, and no trees bugged me too, but skies that go on forever, I remember. xox Corrime
